2015 Tar Heel Tribute

As part of Veterans Day events on campus, the University hosted the second annual Tar Heel Tribute program to celebrate faculty, students, and staff who served in the United States Armed Forces on November 11, 2015. The event included:

lunch;
information about campus and community resources, including a nonprofit organization for companion/therapeutic/service animals; and
time to network with friends, colleagues, classmates, and campus leaders, including the Chancellor.

Those in attendance brought service coins and shared the stories behind the coins during the networking portion of the event. The luncheon was hosted by the Equal Opportunity and Compliance Office, Office of the Dean of Students and Office of Human Resources.

2014 Tar Heel Tribute

The University hosted the first Tar Heel Tribute program on November 17, 2014. The program celebrated the contributions of students, faculty, and staff who have served in the United States Armed Forces. Speakers included Chancellor Folt and Russell Edmister, a Vietnam veteran with both a bachelor’s degree in business and an MBA from Carolina.
