Throughout the month of October, the Equal Opportunity and Compliance Office (EOC) participated in Relationship Violence Awareness Month, a nationwide effort to support those facing relationship abuse. EOC partnered with Violence Prevention & Advocacy Services on several initiatives aimed at support options that exist at the University for those in violent relationships. EOC’s outreach efforts included campus tabling events in addition to a social media awareness campaign throughout the month. EOC and Violence Prevention & Advocacy Services distributed 3,000 goodie bags to downtown Chapel Hill businesses where Carolina students often frequent. Students were given candy, giveaways and information on Relationship Violence Awareness Month.

Felicia Cenca, Report & Response Coordinator for the Equal Opportunity and Compliance Office, shares supportive measures available to students, faculty and staff throughout the year.
