IX Things to Know About Title IX / #IXtoKnowUNC

  1. Title IX protects students from sexual violence, regardless of gender.
  2. Students can make a Title IX report at any time after an incident.
  3. Safety and protective measures are always available, even without an investigation.
  4. EOC responds to interpersonal and sexual violence both on- and off-campus if it impacts a student’s educational experience.
  5. Gender Violence Service Coordinators from the Carolina Women’s Center are a confidential resource.
  6. Safe.unc.edu is the place to go for resources and information about interpersonal and sexual violence.
  7. The University keeps all reports private and confidential as required and allowed by law.
  8. Students can choose to report to EOC, law enforcement, or both – they offer different processes and outcomes.
  9. EOC collaborates with campus partners – Office of the Dean of Students, Student Wellness, and others – to meet our Title IX requirements.
